How long will it take to learn to swim?

  • There is not a quick answer for this. Everyone has the capability of learning how to swim, but everyone will learn at a different pace. Just like learning any new skill, it takes physical and cognitive effort to become proficient. Be patient and encouraging with your swimmer. We reward effort and progress and do not like to compare one learner to the next.

What do I need to bring or wear?

  • All swimmers are required to wear a swimsuit or other proper swim wear.
  • All swimmers will need a towel.
  • Swim diapers are required for any swimmer who is not yet potty trained.
  • Swim caps are not required, but long hair does need to be pulled back.
  • Goggles are a personal preference. They are not necessary, but a pair of properly fitting goggles will enhance the experience.

Why do you only offer classes during the summer?

  • We are a seasonal swim school and only have classes available from June through August. Our facility is an outdoor pool and only heated during the summer months.

Is there a swim team?

  • We do not have a swim team, but there is a community team that we recommend, Glenmoor Stingrays.
  • For adults, we recommend our community masters program, Glenmoor Masters.
